The Twit of Twitter
Clearly, Twitland has yet to be conquered by this semi-daily, semi-global Blinistry (blog-ministry). And yet it is so very vital to world domination. I mean, saving souls.Which is why I don’t care what anybody says about Congressman Weiner and the Twitter Tornado that has engulfed him recently – naturally, I feel for all the people adversely affected by his less than brilliant decision to Twerp tweets instead of opting for a nice 6 hour game of Cats Physics or maybe Fruit Ninja Lite.
It’s hard to get into too much trouble when you’re rolling balls to kittens and choppin’ flyin’ fruit with a huge pretend knife.
Trust me, I know. I have TRIED to get in trouble while playing Cat Physics – nearly impossible. That’s how effective it is. Almost better than curling up in front of the fire with a nice, big Strong’s Bible Concordance and a bowl of popcorn.
But regardless of all the embarrassment and trouble and pain caused by the Congressman’s decision to twit instead of clean out lint from the dryer, bottom line:
I wish I had his Twit Hits.
Let’s face it, the guy’s got over 76,000 followers on Twitter now. I have 53. I only have 31 on this blog. I’m all for bein’ “underground” and hip and all but be serious. What’s wrong with this picture? Pretty much everything.
Can you imagine what this Blongregation (blog-congregation) could do with even HALF that many followers and Twip Hits? I can imagine, but I won’t. It’s not good for me to play those kind of “what if” scenarios with myself this early in the morning. I get too excited and start eating Cheerios by the handful. Like I always say, “Don’t shop for pews unless you came to sit.”
Somethin’ like that.
The Bible has very little to say about Twitter etiquette. Probably because in addition to not having Twitter back then, Congressmen were in short supply. And the few they DID have were probably busy figuring out what to do with all that sand.
All we can do is our best. I’ll keep typing, you keep reading and commenting.
I’ll pray, you fast.
It’ll work.
In the meantime, I may see if THIS gets a rise out of anybody out there.
You never know.
As together we stand and sing.

Pb And J Otter - News
As a kid, Katie Travers loved PB & J Otter. “They had adventures and did the noodle dance and it would just make me feel all warm and tingly inside.” Other popular shows included: Lizzie McGuire, Rugrats, Arthur, and Hey! Arnold.
As a writer, Greg worked on the award-wining cartoon, DOUG, PB & J. OTTER, The Sundance Channel, MATTEL, The Longaberger Company, Disney, PBS, ESPN ZONE, JW Tumbles, Proctor & Gamble, Lucastudios and FOX. He co-created and wrote an original children's
Stutter 2.0: Do the Puppet Master: Kid's Shows Then and Now
I was born in 1993. I know, I'm only 18, I haven't had a lot of life experience, but I, as did 98% of American children, had a wonderful journey through Saturday morning cartoons, Playhouse Disney and Nick Jr. Shows like Blue's Clues, Bear in the Big Blue House, Dragon Tales, PB and J Otter, and Big Comfy Couch reined the television sets for years, keeping kids entertained for hours. Similarly, this new millennium is no different. Yet, the content of these shows just are not the same. Taking "Yo Gabba Gabba" in mind, I have formed the conclusion that little kid shows are still meant for entertaining, but lack a certain content value, seen in 1990s. Mindless and harmless entertainment to keep children out of their parent's hair. With this television show, a new beat suddenly comes out of no where and repetitive lyrics are put to the simplistic beat. Of course, it promotes good things for kids, such as brushing one's teeth, eating healthy foods and cleaning up trash off the ground. There isn't anything wrong with the matter, but new shows come out like it's nothing. Growing up a few more years, take the Disney Channel. Suited for a more tween audience, the Disney Channel usually promotes tween like issues through silly tween downed sitcoms. When I was growing up, programs like That's So Raven, Phil of the Future, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, Kim Possible and the Proud Family took charge on Disney Channel. Even the Disney Channel's movies were quality: the original Halloweentown, Smart House, Luck of the Irish, Double Teamed, 13th Year, etc. I'm not saying this is all bad or even impossible. Look at Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Look at High School Musical. Or at least Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Vanessa recently had two movies come out around the same time (Beastly and Sucker Punch). Even though she isn't a great actress, she got a break on DC. Who the hell was she pre-HSM? Even going back to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. These people are big people in the entertainment industry. Television shows (at least for kids, don't get me started on primetime or reality tv) have drastically taken a turn downwards. Most of my arguments come from opinion and are formed around observation, particularly on the Disney Channel. As a tween, I never really watched Nickelodeon much (i.e. Zoey 101, etc) just Drake and Josh.
