Gaylord Announces Denver Deal

The 1,500-room resort will be 10 minutes from the Denver airport and have views of the Rocky Mountains. It’s slated to open in 2015.

The project has a price tag of $800 million, with tax incentives approved by the city council of Aurora Monday night.

Gaylord only has three other hotels modeled after its flagship at Opryland. The company has a project that’s been in the works for three years just outside Phoenix. Gaylord hasn’t commented on whether the Denver hotel would replace the Arizona development. But in a statement, CEO Colin Reed says Denver is the “perfect location” for meeting demand for what he calls the “Gaylord experience” in the West.
