FOOTBALL: Cy-Fair ISD tickets go on sale Aug. 1
Cypress-Fairbanks ISD football fans can purchase a season ticket package to watch their favorite high school football team play during the 2011 season.The district is offering two convenient ways for both existing and first-time season ticket holders to purchase their 2011 season tickets:
• Online 24 hours a day at www.CyFairTickets.com (tickets will be mailed); and
• In person from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the athletic office at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road), located on the first floor in suite 1401 near entrance No. 2.
The season ticket price is $7 per ticket, and a $5 per-order fee will be applied to online purchases or renewals. Online purchasers can pick their own seats and will not have to wait in line for tickets.
Last year’s season-ticket holders will have the first option to renew season tickets beginning Monday, Aug. 1 through Friday, Aug. 12 online at www.CyFairTickets.com or in person from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the athletic department. Renewal instructions and a link will be emailed or mailed to previous ticket holders.
Tickets not renewed by 4 p.m. on Aug. 12 will be released to the general public beginning Monday, Aug. 15 at 8 a.m. General public season ticket sales will continue through Friday, Aug. 26 at 4 p.m.

Advance single-game ticket prices will be $7 for adults and $4 for students. Tickets may be purchased online, at the Berry Center or at high schools during designated hours the week of the game. Single-game tickets purchased online may be printed immediately and will carry a $1 convenience fee per ticket.

KIRK EATON TAKES OVER AS CY FALLS ATHLETIC COORDINATOR - Cypress Falls High School’s former assistant football coach Kirk Eaton has been named campus athletic coordinator and head football coach.Eaton graduated from Texas Tech University. He began his coaching career in 1995 at Hobby Middle School in San Antonio before accepting an assistant coach position at Kermit High School in 1997. He came to CFISD in 1999 as the secondary coach.
“I am honored to be named the head football coach and campus athletic coordinator of Cypress Falls High School,” Eaton said. “This great school has shaped me into the coach I am today. I look forward to leading Cypress Falls athletics into the future, and maintaining that high standard of excellence that (was) established before me.”

LCHS GOLFER PLACES 12TH AT STATE MEET - Langham Creek High School senior Kirby Kramer capped off her high school career by placing 12th at the UIL State Golf Championships in Austin.
Kramer, CFISD’s lone representative at state, shot a 76 on day one and a 77 on day two to finish with a two-round total of 153. Kramer was also one of three female 5A golfers at the state level to be named to the Academic All-State Team.
“I have to say this was the most amazing time that Kirby and I shared together. She went through her challenges but never let her goal out of sight,” said Langham Creek girls’ golf coach Carey Todd . “She is disciplined in all aspects of her life and that was proven by being only one of three Texas 5A Academic All State members. Kirby will be missed.”

STUDENTS WIN MAJOR THEATRICAL HONORS - A trio of CFISD graduating seniors were recently honored with theatrical accolades at the national and regional levels.
Cypress Creek student Natalie Tischler placed as a semifinalist at the English Speaking Union (ESU) National Shakespeare Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City. Tischler had previously won the ESU Houston branch regional competition. While in New York, Tischler and other finalists were treated to two full days of activities including a visit to the Morgan Library and Museum’s exhibition “The Changing Face of William Shakespeare,” an acting workshop at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and tours of the city.
