Reverse RAGBRAI training ride planned Saturday
For a different take on RAGBRAI, cyclists can try part of the ride in reverse this weekend.Planners from Coralville and Davenport are organizing a teaser for this years installment of the Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Coralville and Davenport are the final two daily stopping towns for the statewide ride at the end of the month.
This year we decided to mix it up a little bit and partner with our neighbors to the east, said Josh Schamberger, a member of Coralville RAGBRAIs central committee. It will be great for training. There are a couple doozy hills coming out of the Mississippi River Valley, but it flattens out from there.
RAGBRAI planning teams from Davenport and Coralville are working with Scheels to put on a Davenport-to-Coralville ride on Saturday. Cyclists will leave Davenport and trace the RAGBRAI route in reverse back to Coralville.
The 65-mile trek through Walcott, Durant, Wilton, Moscow, Rochester, Springdale, West Branch and Iowa City is billed as a training ride. The ride concludes at Scheels at the Coral Ridge Mall.
On July 30, the final day of RAGBRAI XXXIX, cyclists will depart from Coralville for Davenport and pass through the same towns as on Saturdays ride. The full RAGBRAI ride this year begins in Glenwood on July 24 and concludes 450 miles later in Davenport.
Saturdays ride departs at 8 a.m. from Centennial Park in Davenport, which is the site for the ceremonial tire dip in the Mississippi River.
Registration costs $25 and includes a pancake breakfast at 6:30 a.m. in Davenport and a RAGBRAI T-shirt. Scheels will have booths with snacks and water along the way, about every 15 miles, Schamberger said. Emergency bike repair and pickup service also will be available. Transportation to and from Coralville and Davenport is the responsibility of participants.
People also can meet the group at West Branch High at 11:30 a.m. and ride the final 15 miles back to Coralville; that ride leaves at noon.

Mall hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm Sarku Japan, a quick service teriyaki and sushi restaurant, opened recently in the Westfield Chicago Ridge Mall food court.
The goal between the two drives at Lynchburg's River Ridge Mall and Bedford Baptist Church Tuesday is to collect 115 pints of blood. During the summer months, the blood supply drops a bit for reasons such as schools not being in session.

Nursing Mom's Guide to River Ridge Mall « A Kozma Family
When 90 degree plus weather is upon us, it is sometimes fun to go shopping in the air conditioning with the kids. For new nursing moms, like myself, it may feel a little awkward finding a nice private place to feed your wee one. I often nurse in the car when it isn’t so hot outside, but I decided to make it my goal to find great little spots to nurse indoors. I went to River Ridge Mall yesterday to check out their facilities and here are my findings/recommendations thus far:
Family Restroom These are pretty much anywhere you shop and usually have benches or chairs. Try on some clothes and then nurse your baby! =) When shopping during the day, dressing rooms are usually quiet and not crowded. In this case, I try to get the handicap dressing room. It is usually equipped with a bench and very large area for things like baby’s stroller or other kids. Non-handicapped dressing rooms are usually pretty big in most stores as well. Dressing rooms are private and you can quickly get back to shopping.
