Sacred Heart back charged with drug trafficking
Fairfield police allege that 20-year-old junior Brett Swider of Boca Raton, Fla., sold oxycodone in the Bridgeport area.
Fairfield Detective Stephen Rilling said Wednesday officers investigated Swider for two months before obtaining a search warrant and pulling over his car on Merritt Parkway. Rilling says police found more than 700 pills with a street value of about $23,000 hidden under the dashboard.
Swider was arrested Tuesday on charges including possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He is free on a $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court July 15. It's not immediately known who is representing Swider, who has no public telephone listing.
A university spokeswoman declined comment but said students accused of a crime could be suspended.
